High-Strength Glass-Ceramic Material with Low Temperature Formation

Prospects for development of glass-ceramic materials on the lithium aluminosilicates base in order to increase reliability armor protection elements have been analyzed. Compositions aluminosilicate glasses with low content oxide developed, spodumene were obtained their conditions low-temperature thermal treatment. Formation structure based model after treatment has investigated and influence phase composition mechanical properties established. It was determined that developed are feasible application against action high-energy munitions significant penetrating ability, especially when used combination ceramic elements.
